A simple guide to eSIM for SMARTY customers
If you’re already with SMARTY and looking to switch your physical SIM to an eSIM, you’re in the right place. Whether you’re into the latest tech or just want a hassle-free experience, eSIM could make managing your mobile plan simpler than ever.
What’s happening?
SMARTY is starting with a soft launch and right now, eSIM is only available as a SIM replacement. That means this option is just for existing customers who want to switch from a physical SIM to an eSIM.
Not with SMARTY yet? eSIM support for switching to SMARTY is coming soon, watch this space!
So, what is eSIM?
An eSIM (which stands for embedded SIM) is a small chip that’s built directly into your phone or device. Instead of inserting a physical SIM card, your mobile plan can be downloaded straight onto the eSIM.
Think of it like streaming a song instead of popping in a CD, it’s all digital, and it’s all seamless.
What are the benefits of eSIM?
As an existing SMARTY customer, here’s what makes the switch worth considering:
✔ Manage Multiple profiles
Many eSIM-compatible phones support dual SIM, letting you run two numbers (e.g. personal + work) from one device.
Here’s an ultimate guide to dual SIM phones to find out how they work and choosing the perfect one for your needs.
✔ Keep your number, stay on SMARTY
Your number and plan stay exactly the same, it’s just the SIM that changes.
✔ No fiddly SIM swaps
No more worrying about losing or damaging your SIM card, it’s all built into your phone.
Is your device eSIM ready?
Most new phones are. Apple started supporting eSIM in the iPhone XS and newer, and recent Android phones from Samsung, Google, and others are on board too.
